Bubblemania Assembly
On Friday, November 18th, our students had an opportunity to participate in the Bubblemania Assembly. A trained bubbologist performed an interactive and quite entertaining show of bubbles. Students had a chance to learn about reflections, refractions, bubble properties, geometric shapes and more. For the grand finale, boys and girls had a chance to be inside of a giant bubble and discover the science of bubbles. Many thanks to the Friends of Playa for hosting this great event for the students and staff!

Fall Festival and Parade 2011
On Friday October 28th, Playa del Rey Staff/Friends of Playa hosted a Fall Festival Fundraiser from 2:00pm-5:00pm. The event was similar to a carnival; with a variety of fun activities and booths on the yard like dodgeball games, rock climbing, face painting and a haunted house. We enjoyed good food and of course our Playa spirit. The event was very successful and we raised school funds to help our programs. Thank you to all the staff and families who assisted and volunteered their time during the event. A big thank you to Friends of Playa Presidents Mrs. Conover, Mrs. Buckley, and V-President Mrs. Layne. Also, to our Events Committee Coordinator, first grade teacher, Mrs. Takeshima.
